Epson 2200 Reset Procedure
Manual Reset Procedure for Printers Epson 2200
- Turn off the printer power and unplug the power cord from the wall. Disconnect the computer interface cable at the back of the printer.
- After one minute reattach the power plug to the wall, but don’t reattach the computer cable.
- Hold down the ROLL and the PAPER ADVANCE buttons simultaneously.
- Turn the printer on. after 2 blinks, all the ink lights come on, then release the buttons being held down.
- Press and hold the ROLL button for 10 seconds.
- Release the ROLL button and the printer will initialize, which resets the Waste Ink Pad Counter.
- Once initialization is complete, turn the printer power off.
- Reconnect the interface cable.
- Turn the printer on and print a document.

I have followed said procedure and my printer will not initalize. The power will turn on or off now but after being on a couple minutes it makes a sound the lights start flashing. Any suggestions? Thanks Diane
@Diane, if manual reset does not work, try SSC software to reset your printer 😀
For Diane . The procedure abouve worked for me!! I had to do it about 3 or 4 or 5 times before I got the sequence of holding the right buttons down for the recommended amount of hand. But it worked. I never had any success with the ssc utility program. I tryed the ssc software last year I might not have configured it correctly, but i couldnt get to first base with that utility because i THINK you have to use this utility before you are locked out of your printer. My epson software did warn me that I needed to perform some kind of maintenance before it locked up but I of course ignored it because the printer kept printing until the day all the lights started flashing and would not go off. ANYWAY the procedure above worked for me!!
After holding the ROLL and the PAPER ADVANCE buttoms, remove fingers completely and quickly hold the ROLL buttom (10 blinks=10 seconds). DO NOT just lift finger off the PAPER ADVANCE it won’t work. If the carriage moves before you hold the ROLL buttom for 10 ten seconds, just start over. I reset 2 printers so far with success. SSC reset does not work with Windows 7.
