How to Disable the Aero shake feature in Windows 7
A new feature in Windows 7 is called Aero Shake. This feature allows you to minimize all inactive windows by shaking the active window. If you never use this aero shake feature you can disable it. To disable aero shake feature on Windows 7 there are two ways, first way you by editing registry key and second way use the group policy editor.
Disabling aero shake using registry:
- Open windows registry editor
- Navigate to the following key: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | Policies | Microsoft | Windows”
- Create a new key and set the name of the key to “Explorer”.
- Create new and DWORD Value 32-bit and Set the name of the value to “NoWindowMinimizingShortcuts” and double click it.
- In the value data enter “1?.
- Click OK. you may need reboot your windows to see the effect.
Disabling aero shake using Group policy editor:
- Click the Start button, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
- Within the Group Policy Editor, navigate to User Configuration | Administrative Templates | Desktop.
- Double click the Turn off Aero Shake window minimizing mouse gesture and click Enabled.
