Thanks works for MP140

1. Switch the printer Off.
2. Hold down Stop/ Reset button (red circle in the triangle) and then hold down Power button
3. Release Stop/ Reset button (donï’t let go of the power button yet)
4. Press Stop/ Reset button twice, then release Power button
5. Wait until printhead finishes moving, green light on the Power button will change from blinking to steady
6. Click Stop/ Reset button 4 times
7. Click power button once
8. Disconnect power cable or switch off at mains
9. Reconnect power, press power button – you should now see a 1 on the display instead of alternating E,2,7

With the ‘The ink absorber is full’ message now gone I could use the scanner again (which had been refusing to work – giving message: canon mp140 code: 2,250, 0).

It’s stupid that you can’t use the scanner on a Canon AIO unless the 2 ink cartridges are installed and working properly…

Tenho uma canon PM140 e o erro e 5. Eu regarreguei o cartucho e estava usando normalmente , memsmo depois de carregado ele imprimia normalmente. Só que agora ela da uma mensagen de cartucho não reconhecido. E não imprime mais nada.
Por favor me diga o que fazer?

After trying for several times,….it’s working!!

Connected Printer to a Power source, Turn off the printer if printer on.

With the Printer power off, press the Power button while press and hold Stop/Reset button.

When the Power led is light, press Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.

When releasing the Power button and the Stop/Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)

When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button four times to reset waste ink counter (Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green, starting with orange).

After pressing four times the Stop/Reset button, PRESS THE POWER BUTTON to confirm
the command (green light blink once), the printer will move into a service mode, then unplug the power cable.
