Stop Hiding Inactive Icons in the Windows Vista Taskbar
Make Windows Vista alway show Inactive Icons in the Vista Taskbar, that is :
- Right-click the taskbar, choose Properties

When the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box appears, click Notification Area tab
- Uncheck Hide inactive icons to Showing all inactive icons on the Windows Vista taskbar
- Click OK to close the dialog box

- Right-click the taskbar then choose Properties

When the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box appears, click the Taskbar Tab
- Uncheck Hide inactive icons to Showing all inactive icons on the Windows Vista taskbar
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
