In the world that bears the gender equality, a woman has the same position with the man. As in the field of technology. Indeed not a few women who have reached various achievements in various fields, especially the kind of which we will discuss is the field of technology
In fields this one, at this time many names of women who have an important role. From Sheryl Sandberg, who works as the COO of Facebook or Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. However, long before these two women arose lots of other names also played an important role in developing the technology.
1. Lovelace (1815-1852)
Beside to beautiful, Lovelace does have a high level of intelligence. This one female is often referred to as the ‘ first computer programmer’. Lovelace was born in 1815 was made a model for analysis of Babbage engines in 1842. With his findings, Lovelace is able to explain complex things better, similar to a language code.
2. Emmy Noether (1882-1935)
Emmy Noether was a mathematician who comes from Germany, he contributed to abstract algebra and theoretical physics. Noether’s genius was also recognized by Albert Einstein. Even the inventor of the theory of relativity refers to Noether’s most important woman in the history of mathematics.
3. Grace Hopper (1906-1992)
Grace Hopper is a woman who developed a computer compiler in the computing laboratory at Harvard. Not only that, this woman who makes the concept of programming language COBOL. Hopper also became the man who popularized the word ‘debugging’ to correct disorders of the computer program. Hopper’s accomplishments not stop there, Hopper became the first woman to serve in the United States Navy Admiral.
4. Joanne Simpson (1923-2010)
Joanne Simpson is the first woman to earn a Ph.d. in the field of meteorology. Joanne became the woman who leads the weather researcher at Nasa for 30 years.
5. Marissa Mayer (1975 – present)
Now, almost everyone knows the name of this woman. Sitting at the helm of Yahoo company, Mayer was one of the youngest CEO in the list released by Fortune. Currently, the age of Mayer is 37 years. Earlier, Mayer is the 20th workers from Google and was the first female engineer at Google.
