How To Set Up A Successful Blog In No Time At All

Do you have a passion for something and feel the urge to write about it? Maybe it’s time you started a blog. With a blog, you can write about the things you love and make money too! Here’s how you can set up a successful blog in no time at all:

Choose A Blogging Platform

There are various blogging platforms for you to choose from. Each one has their positives and negatives. For beginners, it’s usually recommended you use WordPress to create your blog. It’s easy to use, and there are plenty of customizable options for you to choose from. Plus, there are add-ons you can buy to make your blog look even more professional!

Once you’ve decided on a blogging platform, you can get to work on the overall design of your site. Think about what colours look good and suit the thing you’re blogging about. A blog about Game of Thrones won’t suit colours like hot pink and purple.

Leave Room For Ad Space

It’s important that you leave enough room on your blog for adverts. This will be a good source of income for you. With ad space on your site, you can then sign up to various advertising platforms like Google Adsense. If you sign up, they will then help get adverts put on your site. Why do you want adverts on your site? Because it will generate cash for you!

However, don’t be fooled into thinking that you’ll be making big bucks from the word go. In fact, your site may get rejected from some advertising platforms. If you don’t post anything, and your blog gets zero visitors a month, no one will bother putting ads on your site! So, you need to focus on upping your readership and getting more web traffic.

Get People Visiting Your Blog

Once your blog is created and up and running, it’s time to think forwards. If you want to have a successful blog, you need to get people visiting your site. The aim is to have as many people reading your articles as possible. If you do this, you’re going to make more money from the on-site advertising. There are also other benefits to getting more viewers, namely, your blog gains a reputation. People will start to hear about your blog if it’s popular. When something is popular on the internet, it usually means it will get even more popular! With popularity comes the chance of you being noticed by important people. News outlets may see your blog and want you to start writing for them. Other, bigger, blogs may notice you and want to work with you. A world of possibilities is open to you when you’re popular.

Of course, as I said, you have to get people visiting your blog for it to be popular. To do this, you’re going to have to do a bit of marketing and self-promotion. The first step is to look into things called website audits. A website audit is when a company will analyse your website using various tools and technical jazz. They’ll have a look at your blog and see the health of it and if anything can be improved. All of this will be done to help improve your blog’s SEO. Good SEO is very important if you want a large following. You need your blog to be near the top of the search rankings when people search for certain keywords. To do this, you may want to include a big keyword in your blog’s name. Also, add in little keywords to all of your blog posts and in the content too. It’s also wise to create SEO-friendly blog post titles, to give your blog the edge.

There are, naturally, other ways you can promote your blog. My favourite is by using Twitter. Create a profile for your blog and tweet out the link to a post when you upload it. You can use hashtags to make sure the right audience is seeing your tweets. Plus, with Twitter, you can get a few retweets, so your tweet is seen by even more people. If you build up a small blog following, they’ll also share your posts via Twitter if they’re good enough!

Pursue Other Money Making Methods

Advertising isn’t the only way you can make money from a blog. In fact, there are lots of other, perhaps better, ways of generating cash. If you have lots of people visiting your site, it makes it more likely you can succeed at using one of these methods. You can always try if you don’t have that many viewers, but you’re less likely to see much success.

The first method is making money through an affiliate program. This is where you become a pawn in a company’s affiliate marketing campaign. You’ll find a company that has an affiliate program and sign up. Then, you’ll be given some of their products to promote in your blog posts. In your posts, you’ll be required to link back to the company’s site. For every person that clicks on that link and buys something from the company, you’ll receive payment. As you can tell, if you’re popular you’re going to have lots of people reading your posts. So, there’s a big chance some of them will click the link and buy stuff from the company. It’s not the most efficient way of making money, but a handy thing to consider. After all, it won’t cost you a thing.

The second method of making money is through sponsorships. As I mentioned earlier, when you get popular you get noticed. Companies will soon see your blog and realise the potential that’s there. So, they’ll offer to sponsor you. They pay you some money, and you advertise the company on your blog. You could write sponsored posts talking about their products/services. Or, you could display their adverts on your site in various places. Of course, writing a sponsored post is similar to the first method. The difference being, you get the money beforehand, so you know you’re getting something out of it.

If you do the things included in this guide, you’ll soon have a successful blog and be making money!
